How I Became a Travel Advisor
I’ll never forget my first cruise. After spending years in IT—constantly problem-solving, always “on,” never really disconnecting—I finally took a week to sail the Caribbean. One evening, standing on the deck watching the sun drop into the ocean, something shifted. For the first time in a long time, I wasn’t thinking about work deadlines or the next fire to put out. I was just… there.
That trip reminded me what it feels like to actually relax. To wake up somewhere beautiful and not have a single thing on your to-do list. To let someone else handle the details while you just enjoy yourself.
That’s when I realized: this is what people need more of. Not just a vacation, but a real break. And I wanted to help make that happen.
So I left IT and became a travel advisor. Now, instead of troubleshooting systems, I’m planning getaways. And honestly? It’s the best career change I ever made.
Why I Focus on Cruises & All-Inclusives
After nearly 20 cruises and more all-inclusive resort visits than I can count, I’ve figured out what works—and what doesn’t. I know which cruise lines deliver the best value, which resorts have the best food, and which cabins to avoid (hello, directly under the pool deck).
I focus on cruises and all-inclusive resorts because they’re designed to make travel easy. Everything’s handled: your accommodations, meals, drinks, entertainment. You’re not nickel-and-dimed with surprise charges or left figuring out dinner reservations on vacation. It’s all taken care of, so you can focus on what matters—actually enjoying your time away.
My job is to match you with the right experience. Not the most expensive one. Not the one with the flashiest brochure. The one that fits your style, your budget, and what you’re hoping to get out of your trip.
How I Work With Clients
I keep things straightforward. We’ll start with a conversation about what you’re looking for—maybe you want a laid-back cruise with plenty of activities, or an adults-only resort where you can disconnect completely. I’ll ask the right questions, make some recommendations based on my experience, and handle all the booking details.
Once your trip is booked, I’m here if you need anything. Questions about excursions? Wondering what to pack? Want to add something last-minute? Just reach out. I don’t micromanage your vacation, but I’m available if something comes up.
My goal is simple: make planning easy so your vacation can be exactly what you need it to be.
This was our daughters’ first trip abroad, so we wanted everything to go as seamlessly as possible. From the flights to the ground transportation and the incredible resort, every detail was flawlessly executed.
If you’re in search of a five-star travel agent, look no further than John. He’s simply the best!
My Promise To You
I’m not going to promise you the “trip of a lifetime” or tell you every vacation will be perfect. What I will promise is this: I’ll listen to what you want, recommend options based on real experience, handle the logistics, and be there if you need help.
Travel should feel like a break, not another thing to stress about. Let me take care of the planning so you can look forward to your vacation instead of worrying about the details.
